I use both extensively. I sync my Gmail and Google Workspace accounts to my Apple Mail. I love how the Apple Mail app talks to other Apple's native Applications. Even my Workspace accounts can be dragged and dropped to my task manager. I use an iPad as my main computer now so Google Apps doesn't work seamlessly compared to stock Apple ones.
