Should I get an Apple Watch? A Smart Dilemma
Are smartwatches really smart enough?
If there’s one aspect of technology I’ve always been hesitant to invest in, it’s smartwatches. I’ve had my fair share of experiences with them, starting with my Galaxy S21 and a Galaxy Watch 3. However, after that, I haven’t owned a smartwatch again.
Admittedly, smartwatches do enhance my tech experience, but they also come with a downside: they can be distracting and make me feel like I’m not fully present. They also remind me to move more, which can be a good thing, but it can also be a bit nagging.
The reason I’m writing this is because I’ve come to the realization that I want an Apple Watch. It’s the most expensive smartwatch I know, and it’s not easy to justify spending so much money on a technology that can’t be used as a standalone product.
Now that I use an iPad as my primary computer, I’ve started to appreciate the Apple ecosystem more. I understand why most people don’t want to leave this ecosystem because it’s so convenient.
I want to put an Apple Watch to the test to see if it’s a compelling enough reason for me to get one, or if it’s just a desire that I should keep suppressing.
